In 1963 he commissioned these illustrations of the Bible.
Dali obliged and diligently selected passages of his choice from the Bible between 1964 -1969. He created a stunning series of 105 lithographs to accompany the religious text, which were published by Rizzoli with Dr Alberto as overseer and editor.
In 1986, a curated selection of Dalí’s Bible lithographs was produced by Rizzoli as an Exclusive World Edition, entitled 40 Paintings of the Bible. All of the pieces in our collection belong to this Limited Edition which showcases the very best of Dalí’s Bible works. The Portfolio bears the number X – 014.

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
